Activities For Sr. Santo Niño Feast
The Cofradia del Señor Santo Niño de Cebu-Iloilo Chapter of the San Jose Parish recently bared a program of activities to celebrate the feast of Señor Santo Niño from January 19th to 28th.
This year’s religious theme for the celebration is “We remember, we celebrate, we believe.”
Among the scheduled activities are daily novena masses starting January 19th to the 28th; opening salvo for the feast of Sr. Santo Niño procession around the nine barangays surrounding the parish, mass for the opening salvo of Ati-atihan tribes and a turn-over ceremony for the outgoing Hermanos to the incoming Hermanos on the 19th; fun day for barangay children on the 20th which includes events like street dancing, games and snacks; medical and dental mission on the 21st; healing mass for the aged, sick and abandoned on the 23rd.
The arrival of the pilgrim image of Sr. Santo Niño from Cebu and the Coronation of the Queen Juana 2007 and Niño Dinagyang will be on the 24th; the fluvial procession with foot parade and blessing of Sto. Niño images, pregnant mothers and children will be on the 26th; mass for Kasadyahan tribes, solemn procession of Sr. Sto. Niño and religious sadsad will be on the 27th; solemn high mass for the feast of Sr. Sto. Niño with Dinagyang and city officials on the 28th and thanksgiving mass for the feast will also be done on the 29th.
Meanwhile, parish officials are inviting all Ilonggos to take part in the various activities slated during the celebration.(EAM/PIO)
