Cultural Tribute To Graciano Lopez-Jaena

The Graciano Lopez-Jaena Foundation, Inc. will be holding a tribute to Graciano Lopez-Jaena tomorrow, January 19, 2007, at Central Philippine University Rose Memorial Auditorium.

What Graciano Lopez-Jaena stood and fought for in his struggle for freedom from Spanish colonizers can be seen through a cultural tribute dubbed “Graciano: Orador Sang Filipino” scheduled January 19, 2007 at 6:30 P.M., Central Philippine University’s Rose Memorial Auditorium, Jaro, Iloilo City.

Mr. Demy P. Sonza, president of the Graciano Lopez-Jaena Foundation said that the presentation in the form of drama, songs and dances will enable Graciano’s contribution to connect with today’s younger Filipino generation who are believed to have little knowledge about Graciano’s greatness and nobility.

The Ilonggo hero’s greatness is commemorated every 18th of December and during his 100th birth anniversary held at Jaro Plaza in 1956, President Carlos P. Garcia remembered him as “more than a gifted writer and an inspired orator”. Via PIA
