Beware of phishing. Phishers are now targeting Philippine banks. The latest bank to be targeted by phishing scams is BPI Expressonline site as reported in Technobiography. I bank online using BPI Expressonline and Union Bank so it certainly raised my scam alert level.

Beware of text messages abusing our emotions. Somebody just sent me a message asking for a Php 2.00 pasaload. The text that came from +639197992611 goes:

Gudam po pwd mu po ba ako 2lungan kc un nanay ko sa abrod may sakit kelangan ko po sya matawagan ngaun, emergency po, kulang po ng 5pesos pra mktawag ako sa kanya kung pwd po sna pasaload po kht 2peso para mktawag ako sa kanya salamat po - caTHy2

My sister sent me an email asking if the attached email she received is legitimate. It says she won $300,000 from Yahoo Lottery Inc. I'd say beware of these type of emails. If you don't remember entering in the lottery, never reply. These people are professionals. We even received scam lottery mails from the local post office. Anyway, here's how the scam email look.
