Never did I considered myself a tourist or felt as one in my whole life. Our recent trip to Bohol brought out the tourist in me.

The province of Bohol has done a good job of promoting their tourism industry. I haven't seen a place (Panglao beach) with more foreigners per square meter even since Boracay in the early 90's. They did even better job with educating the locals about their tourist spots. Shuttle bus drivers will be quick to offer to bring you to their tourist destinations.

I didn't find anything that is overwhelming but the way they presented them is to be commended. It's all in the packaging, baby.

Bohol has lots and lots of tourist destinations. In our four days - 3 of those spent in Bohol - we haven't visited half of the places and I can't believe the number of tourist spots we visited in a day without feeling tired.

So what are the things and places to see in Bohol? In Panglao, we went dolphin watching. But you have to be up early at around 6am. They, indeed, have dolphins. The dolphins even show off their famous somersault dives.

You definitely would want to see the tarsiers famous for their small size and their big eyes. I was hoping to find them in a semi-jungle settings only to find out they're in captivity.

We were also taken to see Prony. The largest, longest and youngest python in captivity. According to the story, Prony eats a whole pig or goat once a month. Prony lives in a cage together with a couple flying lemurs.

You've never visited Bohol if you have not been to the world famous Chocolate Hills. The view at the top is breathtaking. But before you go down, toss a coin into the wishing well and ring the bell.

People also go to Hinagdanan Cave to take a quick dip in the underground pool. It's hot and dark inside so be careful.

Another place that you must visit is the Loboc River. They have floating restaurants that treats you to live music and beautiful scenery down the river over a buffet meal. Very, very ingenious. I wonder if we can do the same with Iloilo River.

Did I mention they also have white beaches? Yes, they have but a notch lower than that of Boracay's.

Bacolod City released positive figures about their tourism industry with Masskara Festival as the biggest crowd drawer. I wonder if Iloilo City will do the same.

More than 250,000 tourists visited this city last year giving the tourism industry an estimated income of more than 767.6 million.
