The people of Zarraga Iloilo will be holding their 4th Pantat Festival starting December 19, 2006 until December 23, 2006. Highlights of the celebration is the Pantat Cooking Contest on the 22nd and the Tribe Competition on the 23rd where synchronized dances emulating a pantat will be performed by participants.

What local event goes without a theme? This year's theme for Pantat Festival is "Pantatan Pamuaron, Dunang Manggad Tatapun, Panghimanwa Pasanyugon,". Pantat is the local name for catfish.

The Municipality of Zarraga is a fifth class municipality, recently upgraded into fourth class municipality. It is composed of twenty 24 barangays, where four (4) barangays considered urban and the remaining 20 barangays considered rural. Zarraga has a total land area of 5,448 hectares or 54.48 Square Kilometers. It is located approximately 16 kilometers away from the center of Iloilo City. It is the converging point of two (2) national highways that serve as the main roads of Central Panay including the provinces of Aklan, Capiz and the Northern towns of Iloilo Province.
